Man dies in multi-vehicle crash in which horse was killed

A man in his early 70s has died in a five vehicle crash in Co Cork.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Gardai said the man had been the driver of a lorry which collided with four cars.
A horse was also killed.
The accident happened shortly after 12.30pm on the N20 Cork to Limerick Road at Ballydahin, Mallow.
The occupants of three of the cars – three men and three women aged from their mid teens to late 60s – and the passenger in the lorry, in his late 20s, were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Two people in the fourth car were not hurt.
Emergency services and The Red Cross attended the scene.
