Man charged after cocaine seized in South Dublin

Gardai have seized cocaine with a street value of about 210,000 euro in South Dublin.

An estimated three kilograms of the drug were found when o fficers from the Drugs and Organi sed Crime Bureau stopped and searched a van during an intelligence led operation in Clondalkin on Saturday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Clondalkin Garda Station where he has been charged under the provisions of section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

A Garda statement said: “These operation use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle networks.

“Drugs seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities.

“Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
