Gardai have launched an investigation after a baby boy died at an apartment complex in Killarney.
Emergency services were called to the building on Upper High Street at around 6pm.
The 11-month-old boy was treated at the scene but pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai said a man aged in his 30s was found in the apartment with serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee.
No further details of the incident have been made public by the Garda.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and a preliminary examination will be carried out at the scene.
