Will Ferrell’s hilarious take on leprechauns and US Presidential hopefuls
Hollywood funnyman Will Ferrell had the audience in stitches as he appeared as former US President George W. Bush.
He told the audience that with the Presidential race starting to hot up that he intended to throw his hat back into the ring.
He even found time to include a mention of leprechauns.
He started by saying: “The field of Republicans out there is so messed up, I figured it makes you miss me doesn’t it?”
He then laid into some of the Republican hopefuls such as Dr Ben Carson Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
He said of Cruz and Rubio: “These two guys, the sons of immigrants… hate immigrants!”
He then moved onto the highest profile of the candidates saying ‘…and then you got this knucklehead’ as a picture of Donald Trump appeared onscreen.
He went on to mock Trump’s hair before saying that his policies are doomed to fail as history showed they had not worked against the leprechauns.
When a picture of Jeb Bush then appeared, Ferrell said: “It’s a pretty good plot twist, that I turned out to be the smart one.”
He said that Republican voters didn’t want an insider who knows how to govern. Instead they want: “Someone who is cuckoo for Coco Pops!”
He then went on to explain why he (George W. Bush.) is still the best man to take the country forward.
