Irish YouTube channel FACTS have produced a moving video in which a young boy and old man talk together about the good and bad points of being young and old.
The 64-year-old man, Des, and 7-year-old boy, Sean, are more than half a century apart in age and FACTS put them together to see if they could offer each other any sound advice to live their lives by.
The video begins with Des telling Sean that one of the bad things about being old is that you can’t do some of the things you used to be able to do. Sean tells him that homework is one of the downsides to being young.
Des then says that when he was young he used to play cowboys and Indians and Sean says that he plays that too.
Des tells him that is one of the great things about being young, using your imagination. Sean responds by saying that it is sad that Des is now too old to play. Des chuckles and says that he can still be an ‘old cowboy’.
The pair exchange views and experiences on various other life events such as falling in love and having babies. Sean says that if his baby cries he will “sing like Ed Sheeran to him”.
Des reveals that he has suffered some heartache in his life, but reassures Sean that it is OK because these things happen and he will always have his memories.
It is an emotional watch as both parties show mutual respect and affection for each other. They end by offering each other advice for their lives before sharing a handshake and a hug.
