The most expensive pint of beer in Ireland is now available in the 23rd floor Observatory bar of the swanky Grand Central Hotel in Belfast.
A pint of India Pale Ale will set you back an eye-watering £8 in the “liquor lounge” at the luxury hotel.
The draught beer is brewed exclusively for the hotel by Whitewater Brewery in Castlewellan.
Although the price of the beer is a little on the high side, visitors to the lounge can enjoy incredible views of the city of Belfast from the 23rd storey bar.
The liquor lounge opened last week and also offers a range of bespoke cocktails starting from £14 each, and rising to £89 if you fancy the whiskey and Champagne based refreshment of the Sir William’s Serve.
The sky-high prices match the sky-high setting of the bar, and the view of Belfast from the glass walls are something to behold.
Here, hotel general manager Stephen Meldrum talks about the opening.
