Ballinacurra House

A Irish mansion that was once used by King of Pop Michael Jackson has been put on the market for €6.35 million.

Ballinacurra House is a high end 25-acre private estate and corporate venue. It is extremely grand and certainly is fit for a king.

The property in Kinsale, Co Cork regularly hosts VIPs from the corporate and entertainment world for up to €40,000 per week.

Ogham, the mysterious language of the trees The Origins of the Ogham alphabet are still a mystery for many historians, but it is primarily thought to be an early form of the Irish written Language. Bealtaine Fire

The guest list is somewhat of a guarded secret but it is believed to include high fliers from international corporations, European royalty and A-list actors and musicians

Despite their VIP statuses, not many of the visitors are likely to have been as well known as music legend Michael Jackson.

The Thriller star stayed at the estate in 2007 with his three children while he was looking for a property to buy in Ireland.

He was attracted to the seclusion as much as the luxury, and the owner Des McGahan said that the Jackson children were just like any regular kids.

He even said they ordered KFC rather than having food prepared by Ballinacurra House’s Michelin-standard chef.

Another US musician Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian were left disappointed in 2014, when they were unable to stay at Ballinacurra House during their honeymoon in Ireland as it already booked for another wedding.

Ballinacurra House is 18,400 sq ft and has 14 bedrooms. There are also cottages on the grounds which bring the room total to 25.

Des and Lisa McGahan have owned the property for the past 20 years and the couple spent several years transforming it from a run down old building to one of the most exclusive properties in the country.

They restored parts of the property and a riding arena and a jetty. They filled the building with wonderful furniture from all over the world.

The McGahans are now ready to sell after their children have grown up and flown the nest.
