Hollywood actor and director John Krasinski has revealed he believes Irish star Cillian Murphy is an ‘epic human being’.

Krasinski made his name playing Jim Halpert in the US version of comedy classic The Office.

He has since made the move into directing and his horror movie A Quiet Place was one of the top films of 2018 for critics and fans alike.

He has now teamed up with Peaky Blinders star Murphy for the sequel and the pair hit it off in a big way.

Krasinski also stars as CIA analyst Jack Ryan in the hit American thriller series of the same name.

He spoke to Joe.ie ahead of the launch of the second season of Jack Ryan and the conversation turned to how he got along with Murphy while filming A Quiet Place II.

Krasinski said: “I’m still in mourning that our time has ended together as co-workers. But he is, without a doubt, one of the greatest actors and people I’ve ever worked with. He is an incredibly special, special person.

“Luckily, in his thank you note for doing the movie, he said ‘Here’s to seeing you soon, hope we stay pals’, and I went ‘Oh my God, he still wants to be friends!’ I turned into a high school kid right away.

“He’s an epic human being and I can’t wait to see him again.”

A Quiet Place II also stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Djimon Hounsou.
