Irish newlyweds dance in the streets of Galway

Irish newlyweds dance to a band of buskers on Shop Street, Galway

These Irish newlyweds took to the streets of Galway to have their first dance as a married couple – and it seemed they were joined by the whole town.
Declan Tannam and Kate Divilly tied the knot in Galway, and being the down to earth people that they are, decided to forgo fancy carriages and walked from the church to their reception.

On their way to the venue they walked through Galway and passed by the city’s famous Shop Street.

When they passed a band of buskers called Galway Street Club. They decided there was no better setting to have their first dance as newlyweds.
They stopped in their tracks and started to dance. It wasn’t long before they were joined by their wedding party – and soon they were surrounded by passers-by who cheered them on.
The dance was caught on video by Ciara Nungesser, who lives in a nearby apartment.
No wonder Galway has been named as the most romantic city in Ireland.
Congratulations to Kate and Declan from all of us at Ireland Calling.
