Two stunning Irish locations are among the ‘most Instagrammable’ in the world

Two locations in Ireland have been named among the ‘most Instagrammable’ places in the world by a renowned travel website.

The stunning beauty of Ireland’s landscape has inspired artists and poets for centuries, so it’s no surprise that the 21st century holiday makers would want to add to that legacy with a modern twist.

In today’s technology driven world many people love to document their experiences on image based social media sites such as Instagram – so getting the right location is vital for the perfect photo.

No wonder, so many flock to such a beautiful country as Ireland.

Big 7 travel compiled a list of the most Instagrammable places on Earth and Ireland was featured in the top 40 twice.

Dublin was the first Irish entry, listed at number 27, and the glowing review praised a wide variety of aspects of the city on offer to tourists.

The travel recommendation site said: “Ireland’s picturesque capital belongs on everyone’s bucket list. Its plethora of medieval history, charming pubs, street art and lively culture are just a few things that make it an Instagrammer’s dream.

“Wander the halls of the world’s most epic library, aka, The Library of Trinity College and bring your #bookworm aesthetic full circle. And then clink a few pints of Guinness in the uber photogenic Temple Bar area.”

At the other end of the country, every Irish person’s favourite domestic holiday location – Kerry – also made the list, at number 39.

Big 7 said: “The Emerald Isle isn’t short on spectacular scenery, but Kerry is probably its most jaw-dropping location. From craggy cliffs and Ireland’s highest mountain range to 9th-century mansions and age-old pubs, you can guarantee no two pictures will ever be the same.

“A stop-off in the small fishing town of Dingle is a must, as is a trip out to the Skellig Islands, where Star Wars was recently filmed.”
