The island covers nearly 60 acres of agricultural land. It is around 2.4km away from the mainland and accessible by boat from Blacksod Pier.
It is part of the town of Belmullet which has a population of around 1,000 people.
Beg Island is part of the Wild Atlantic Way tourist trail. It is also close to Fallmore Beach as well as the Crane golf course links and several bars and restaurants.
It could be an ideal get-away for someone who is looking to escape the stress of big-city life.
