Irish Granny gives granddaughter advice on her love life

An Irish granny has become an online star after a 2016 video was posted of her offering advice to her granddaughter with regards to her love life.

Eileen, aged 94 from County Mayo, faced the camera and said: “Well Katie, cheer up, you’ll find a big man one day and you won’t know what to do with him.”

She was then prompted by the person recording to go on, and suggested: “Could you go to any dance up there? If you could, you might meet someone.”

Many of us turn to our grandparents for advice over matters of the heart, as more often than not they have seen it all before and have several nuggets of wisdom to pass on.

Hopefully Katie will act on the advice of Eileen and find herself a ‘big man’ sooner rather than later.

Eileen did have a word of warning for her granddaughter though about choosing the right man. She pointed out that although there are many nice men around here (in Mayo), “they’re too small and aren’t up to your shoulders”.

She then grins at the camera and says good bye.

The video has proved hugely popular and has been viewed and shared thousands of times in just a couple of days.

Take a look for yourself.
