An Irish granny found that ‘what comes around, goes around’ in the best possible way when she had a remarkable slice of good fortune shortly after helping out someone in need.
The Dublin lady who wants to remain anonymous offered a homeless man money to help him find a bed for the night.
The man thanked her for her kindness and suggested that she get herself a scratch card.
After taking his advice, the lady bought a scratch card and became a big winner – to the tune of €50,000!
She said: “I was meeting my friend for a coffee and while I was waiting, I started talking to a man who had obviously come upon hard times and I gave him just a small amount of money which he was going to use to get some shelter for the night.
“He was incredibly grateful and he promised me that my act of kindness would be rightly rewarded in time and he told me that my next National Lottery purchase would be a lucky one.
“I had a €20 win to collect on a previous scratch card so instead of taking the cash I decided to buy a €20 scratch card which I would never have had considered before.
“When I finally met my friend for coffee, we started scratching it together at the table and we just couldn’t believe it as the €50,000 symbol appeared before our eyes.
“We thought there was a mistake until we called the National Lottery. It has been a very emotional day and it’s a lot to take in but we’re going to enjoy it.
“I haven’t even had time to process the win let alone think about what I’m going to do with the money.”
