An honest Irish lady has been praised after she handed in €220 that someone had left in a cash machine.
Carol Murphy of Askeaton, Co Limerick, was out shopping in Dooradoyle when she went to get cash from an ATM.
The mother of two noticed that someone had withdrawn four €50 notes along with one €20 note.
While many people would seriously think about pocketing the cash, Carol did what most of us like to think we would do in such a situation.
She put the cash into an envelope and handed it in to the information desk at the at the Crescent Shopping Centre.
The 34-year-old said: “My only thought was for the poor misfortunate who left the money.
“It’s not a nice thing to happen to anyone. I know I’d miss that sum of money – I’d be devastated.”
Well done to Carol from Ireland Calling – let’s hope some good karma comes her way after displaying such honesty.
