Heart melting video of a teenager’s first dance with his mother

Heart melting video shows a teenager has his first dance with his mother at her wedding

A video of a teenage boy dancing with his mother has taken social media by storm, as it melts viewers’ hearts.

The boy – known just as Alex – has a severe form of cerebral palsy and is confined to an electric wheelchair.

However, he was able to fulfil his mother’s wish by dancing with her at her wedding, thanks to his step father.

His step father wore a strap and stood behind Alex, which allowed him to be upright and able to make his mother’s dream come true.

Musician Jamie Mathias posted the video onto his Facebook page with the following message: “This is a moment I will never forget.

“The groom strapped his new step-son (who suffers from extreme cerebral palsy) to his chest to allow his mother to fulfil her wish of having her first ever dance with him on her wedding day.”

Tragically, Alex’s condition means that his family are not sure how long he will live, and they are determined to enjoy every moment that they can spend with him.

They are currently trying to raise money to take him to Disney World.

Mathias continued: “Unfortunately Alex is seriously unwell and sadly they do not know how much time they have left with him. They are looking to take him on a once in a lifetime trip to Disneyland, but due to the complex nature of his medical care, this is going to cost a lot of money. Please donate to this page to help them achieve this here: GoFundMe

The page was set up by care worker Georgie Longman who wrote: “I’ve had the pleasure of working close with Alex and he’s certainly captured my heart.

“In 2016 we managed to raise over £3,000 for Alex through this site and many charity events. With people’s kind donations we managed to buy Alex a 3 wheeler buggy this will enable Alex to do many more activities which he’s limited in his electric wheelchair, including going on the beach, through mud and snow! The buggy alone was £2,500!

“This year so far we’ve raised another £3,000 to go towards Alex’s trip to Disneyland with his wonderful mum, step dad, little step sister and little step brother!

“When the outcome will ultimately always have a sad ending, making endless amount of memory’s to treasure and making sure Alex has everything he needs is the best thing to do. All I ask for is a donation no matter how big or small to make all their wishes come true!”
