It is that time of year again, when the hunkiest and manliest of Irish farmers strip off for the annual Farmers Calendar.

This year will be the 11th edition of the hot calendar which sees the country’s agricultural workers bare all for a great cause.

A percentage of the proceeds from the calendars goes to livestock charity Bothar, which helps tackle poverty in developing countries.

The opening summary on its website reads:

“Bóthar is the Irish international charity that provides the gift of livestock as a means of long-term development aid. Bóthar enables families and communities to overcome hunger and poverty in a sustainable way, specialising in improved livestock production and support-related training in the community.”

The link between the charity and the Farmer Calendar has created a strong working relationship that has lasted for more than a decade and is only going from strength to strength.

The calendar sees 12 hunky Irish farmers striking cheeky poses with their animals around the farm.

The fellas all have a great time doing the shoots and obviously enjoy showing off their fantastic physiques.

Farmer January is cheekily reading a book titled ‘Sex Instructions for Farmers’ while sitting on a bale of hay.

All the other farmers throughout the year are striking equally fun poses, but you would have to purchase a copy of the calendar to see them in all their glory.

The Farmer Calendar was created by Dublin woman Ciara Ryan. She spoke about how the unique idea came about.

Ryan said: “I got made redundant and decided to do this; it’s an enterprise with a heart. It’s very hard to get farmers to do it to be honest. Some guys have appeared three or four times. The people that do it are fun and up for the craic.”
