Locals in an Irish pub got a shock this week as Hollywood star Emily Blunt stopped by for a pint of Guinness.

The Golden Globe winning actress was in Ireland to film and new movie, Wild Mountain Thyme, with Christopher Walken, Jon Hamm and Irish star Jamie Dornan.

The film is set in rural Ireland and sees Blunt’s character involved in a conflict after the father of her love interest threatens to leave the farm to an American cousin.

It is directed by John Patrick Shanley, who also wrote the original Broadway play that the movie is based on.

While they were filming in Co Mayo, they took a break to visit the Thatch Inn in Crossmolina.

Blunt was even invited behind the bar to pull a pint of Guinness.

She seemed a little unsure of herself at first but soon got the hang of it and poured a perfect pint of the black stuff.

Take a look at the video below.

Blunt and her co stars had plenty of time for the regulars and were happy to pose for photos with starstruck fans.

Blunt has kept busy in her time off from filming. She has also travelled to Galway for a spot of brunch at the popular Caprice café.

The café posted the following message to their Instagram account: “What am amazing day we had today!! Welcoming one of the loveliest ladies to Caprice for brunch.

“When asked how she found us she simply said I looked up best brunch spots in Galway and simply had to come in during a break in filming in Mayo. To say she is a lady is a understatement. Emily Blunt you are our favourite.”
