Dara Ó’Briain – king of the comedy panel show

Dara Ó’Briain has become one of the most watched television personalities in Ireland and the UK throughout the 2010s.

He began his career as a children’s television presenter before getting his break in comedy, and making himself one of the leading figures in comedy TV panel shows.

Ó’Briain has hosted topical panel shows The Panel, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

As a self-confessed ‘science geek’, Ó’Briain also hosted numerous education based science programmes such as Stagazing Live and Dara Ó’Briain’s School of Hard Sums.

As well as all of his television work, Ó’Briain is still passionate about stand-up comedy, and has been on several tours around the world.

Ó’Briain is good friends with another Irish comedian Ed Byrne, who is one the regular guests on Mock the Week. The two friends acted as best man at each other’s weddings.
