Medley of classic Christmas songs – sung in Irish

A group of students have created a wonderful video of a medley of the best Christmas songs – all sung in Irish.

The video was filmed at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and it looks like a great time was had by all. The music begins with a young man delivering a great Irish version of It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.Medley of classic Christmas songs - sang in Irish
All the children provide the backing vocals to create a great harmony and really give the song that Christmassy feel.
Next up is a young lady singing her own Irish version of Mariah Carey’s festive classic All I Want For Christmas is You. She wanders round a clothes store in Liffey Valley while all the kids around her cause try on the different outfits.
Throughout the video, a group of mischievous children are winding up the shopping centre’s security guards and keep giving them the slip.
The next festive Irish treat in the medley is I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day which has been an annual favourite ever since it was originally released by Wizzard in 1973.
As always the kids did the classic justice with their own Irish version. Throughout this song they go wild in a toy store and continue to evade the security men.
For the finale, all the kids, musicians, shoppers and security guards gather in the centre of Liffey Valley to celebrate in style.
Everyone enjoys a sing and dance to the Irish version of Slade’s timeless party track Merry Christmas Everybody.
Take a look at the video below, and see how many of the words you can learn.
