A video of Irish people dancing ‘like Brazilians’ after accepting a challenge from a bossa nova group has gone down a storm in the Irish media. The challenge was thrown down by Tom Speers, who was directing a video for Irish/Brazilian group Nova Collective.

An Irish dancer delighted passersby in Galway as she took centre stage in the middle of the town and performed an impressive routine to music. Little is known about the talented performer, other than she definitely has some rhythm and can tap and step with the best of them.

A young Cork man who was bullied as a child because of his passion for Irish dancing has had the last laugh – by becoming a Marquee star. John Lonergan was taunted by many of the other kids at school – some would even go as far as to throw stones at him.
