Scientists in Ireland could be on the verge of being able to predict volcanic eruptions thanks to ground breaking new research. A team at Trinity College Dublin have discovered a new method of analysing and explaining past explosions and this may be the key to preparing for future eruptions.

A Sinn Féin councillor has thanked Queen Elizabeth as an Irish tricolour will be returned to Limerick and used in next year’s Easter Rising Centenary celebrations. The flag is hugely significant to the city of Limerick as it was hoisted during the mobilisation of the volunteers in the city.
