Five million euro is being made available to provide assistance for small businesses damaged by the weekend floods, the Taoiseach has said. Enda Kenny said measures would also be taken to help farmers whose lands have been waterlogged.

The body of a pensioner swept away in flood water has been found in Co Monaghan. Police recovered the body of Ivan Vaughan, 70, around 10 metres from his car in Corraghdown, near the village of Glaslough.

Government 'falling short on refugee commitments'
The Irish Government has fallen short on commitments to help refugees, a coalition of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) has claimed.
