A motorcyclist in her 40s has died after her bike hit the central divide on the M9 motorway in Co Kildare.
The collision happened between Junction 1 and 2 at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai said no other vehicle was involved and no one else was injured.
The road remained closed on Sunday morning tfor forensic examination.
