A woman has been killed in a crash on the N4.
The accident happened at about 9.20am at Bunbrosna, on the dual carriageway about three miles west of Mullingar, gardai said.
The woman was driving a car on her own when there was a collision with another vehicle.
A man who had been driving the other vehicle and his female passenger have both been taken to hospital.
The N4 at Bunbrosna was closed for several hours to allow for a forensic collision investigation.
Gardai appealed for witnesses.
