Man arrested in dissident republican murder probe

A man in his 30s has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a well known dissident republican last month.

The suspect was detained on Saturday afternoon in west Dublin and is being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The arrest brings to three the number of men being questioned about the death of Vincent Ryan whose brother was a Real IRA leader.

Two others, also aged in their 30s, were detained during early morning Garda raids in north and west Dublin on Friday.

One man is being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act at Finglas Garda Station.

The other man is detained under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Blanchardstown.

The 25-year-old known as Vinnie was gunned down as he sat in a car on McKee Road, Finglas, north Dublin on February 29 — four years on from the murder of his brother Alan in a feud with a drugs gang.
