Louis Walsh can’t wait to finally start Ireland’s Got Talent

Louis Walsh insists Irish TV doesn’t pay enough to keep its talent

Louis Walsh said that he can’t wait to get up and go to work every morning now that he has landed his dream job.
The Irish music mogul has revealed that he is a judge on the new series of Ireland’s Got Talent.

Walsh worked with Simon Cowell for years on the X Factor and in 2015, he expressed a wish to see an Irish version of another of Cowell’s shows – Britain’s Got Talent.
Louis Walsh says he will be a judge on Ireland's Got Talent
Until now, talented Irish hopefuls have had to head over to the UK to audition for BGT, but now Walsh has revealed that that wish will become a reality and the new show will start in 2018.
Walsh told This Morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that he will be on the judging panel alongside American star Michelle Visage.
He said: “Ireland’s Got Talent’, yeah, it’s starting! Nobody knows this yet.
“It’s starting on TV3 in Ireland. It’s me and Michelle Visage – she’s fantastic. It’s going to be on TV in January.
TV3 are hopeful that their show can emulate the success of many of the other ‘… Got Talent’ from around the world.
They have dug deep into their pockets to ensure the show will be a hit and are rumoured to be forking out around €200,000 to entice the established and respected judge to take part.
Walsh’s UK fans will still be able to see him in this year’s X Factor as the Ireland’s Got Talent auditions stage is set to take place just before Christmas time.
The hard-working Mayo man is set to combine his two roles, so will be in for a busy few months.
Walsh told This Morning viewers: “Honestly, I love doing the job and every year we have a new set of people and I can’t wait to get started
“I love working with these people, I love working with Simon, Sharon and Nicole. I can’t wait to go in every day.”
