Eleven members of the Irish Prison Service were brave enough to bare all in order to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.

The calendar also features a couple of famous Irish sportsmen with Wicklow footballer Ciaran Hyland and former Donegal footballer Mick Doherty taking part.
Brian Hayes, the man who came up with the idea, admits he has been overwhelmed by the interest it has received.
He told the Irish Independent: “It was originally meant to be done on a smaller scale, it was just going to involve a few lads in-house here at Wheatfield but the news spread. We have over 6,000 ‘likes’ online now between our Facebook page and our posts online.”

‘There was plenty of baby oil involved’

“It was great craic, a few of the lads had their fake tan done from the night before and there was plenty of baby oil involved.”

Brian organised the event to raise awareness and funds for the charity. He and many of his fellow models have personal experience of the pain and suffering that cancer can cause a family. He went on to add: “On behalf of everyone involved we would like to wish everyone who is fighting cancer the very, very best.”

The calendar will go on sale at the end of this month and all proceeds will go to the Irish Cancer Society. To support the group or order a calendar online please visit the boys’ Facebook page or to make a donation please go to Irish Cancer Society.
