Ireland is the second ‘most excellent’ country in the world says TripAdvisor
Ireland has been named as the second ‘most excellent’ country in the world to visit by respected travel site TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor released its lists of excellence for 2018 and not only is Ireland high on the list of top countries but also Dublin features high on the list of the best cities as well.
The travel site uses an algorithm that ‘takes into account the quality, quantity, and recency of user reviews’.
It then awards a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ to any accommodation, restaurant, attraction or experience to have received good enough independent reviews.
The properties must have been listed for at least 12 months to be considered and must then have an average review of at least four out of five.
While many largely populated countries and cities will have huge numbers of rated establishments, TripAdvisor used the percentage of establishments that were highly rated when making its lists.
